Options for rendering mp4

Are there any other options for rendering mp4's other than using the Sony AVC format? The only choices that I see from the format pull down are:
Main Concept MPEG-1 (*.mpg)
Main Concept MPEG-2 (*.mpg,*.m2v,*m2t,*.mpa)
QuickTime 7 (*.mov)
RealMedia 9 (*.rm)
Sony AVC (*.mp4, *.m2ts, *.avc)
Video for Windows (*.avi)
Windows Media Video (*.wmv)

I see the only option above for mp4 files as Sony AVC... if there are other options, how do I get them into my Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0 to show up from the format pull down options?

If there are other options, which would you recommend? I'm attempting to create reasonable and manageable mp4 files (size) that will be streamed over the internet.

Thank you.

Stick with AVC. It's the best option in the mp4 wrapper.

I'd suggest you upgrade to Platinum 10, in order to be able to use MainConcept MP4. It supports VBR, which has better quality than CBR, and it's less crashy than Sony AVC.
