Order of applying Mercalli V4 Plug-in in SVP

Hi--I'm using the new Mercalli V4 plug-in in SVP13. Is there a proper (best practices) sequence to when the stabilizer should be applied? Is it the very last thing, after exposure, contrast, color, etc., or does it matter. While we're on the subject, is there a best practices sequence for all of the adjustments to a clip?

Thank you.

I don't have much experience with Mercalli V4 yet but have used V3 since it came out. Mercalli ignores all the other fx in the plug-in chain when it does the analysis, so it probably doesn't matter much where you put it. I generally run Mercalli first and usually put a small amount of sharpening on after it, before adding any other fx but that's just my workflow. I think johnmeyer did a test years ago on the fx chain but as I recall it dealt more with how the various fx effected processing time. That was a big deal in the Pentium-4 days. There have been a couple of other threads dealing with fx order in reguard to color correction you might want to search for but I don't recall anything about where to put Mercalli. In my experience it doesn't matter.

Thank you. As I've started to play with Mercalli more, I'm starting to favor putting in on last. The reason is, if I make even a small change in the length of a clip, it requires a new analysis. And I'm frequently adjusting clip length, so, that eats up a lot of time.

New analysis requirement is similar to NewBlueFX's Stabilizer as well, if I apply it to EventFX level.

Probably you want to try applying it to MediaFX level, or make subclip first to useable length, so the Mercalli won't be applied to whole shots.
By doing this way, adjusting event clip's duration won't require re-analyse.
