Order of processing effects ? Which 1st, 2nd, etc?

Does Vegas process applied effects in order...

In other words... if you apply a color correction, then apply a chroma blur, then apply a chroma key effect... so you have 3 effects in the effects chain...

does Vegas....
- completely process the clip for the color correction...
- then apply the chroma blur
- then apply the chroma key?

I was under the impression that it did but the question came up.

Thanks for any help.

Your understanding is correct.

The FX will be applied in the order of the chain. Need to be aware of the pre/post toggle (little triangle to the left of the affect in the keyframe area). It controls FX behaviour when track compositing or using pan/crop.

The help is pretty good explaining it.

Yes in the applied order

For exam I am busy with a green key video clip of a hand scribbling with a marker so first saturate green then key the green then generate mask

Multiply mask bomb out black marker saturate the under pixel from the below video clip to top and you have a hand drawing a video clip

Change any 1 order and this would not work

Not only does Vegas apply them in order, but -- if for some reason you need to -- you can easily change the order just by clicking and dragging the buttons in the FX chain (at the top of the FX window).

Not that you'd want to, I imagine, in the example you gave.

1 - What do you mean 'saturate the green' ?

If your shooting chroma key on green screen... how do you increase saturation on only the green background?

Or do you mean something else?

2 - Do Track Effects get applied before clip effects?

Thanks all.
