I was just on the http://www.4evergroup.org/ page and it looks like little activity since April.. Does anyone know if it is still active, or what happened to it ? I met Tim Ryan a while back and got the impression the 4evergroup was going to be more an event videographers group than WEVA.
It was. Now it's defunct. Steve Wernick ( who founded the 4EVER Group with Tim Ryan) and Roy Chapman (WEVA) got into a very messy law suite. It was eventually settled in favor of Chapman, to the tune of a couple hundred thousand in damages.
Although advanced registration funds and entrance fees for the 2008 4EVER Group conference were collected, the conference never took place and Wernick, so far as his member-creditors have been concerned, went incommunicado, leaving behind a great many VERY embittered former friends and associates, many out quite a bit of money.
The web site seems still to be up, although inactive for the past year.
You can find the text of the settlement in favor of Chapman on line.
Now divorced - huh? Nobody twig the irony? Did they sign a pre-nup? Was it videoed? Hey! Now THERE'S a new income stream for all you Wedding videographers. A videoed Pre-Nup - You could call it Vid-U-Nup. Or . . . . .
