Ok, got an HC3 coming this week for use in my classroom productions. Unfortunately HC1s were gone. So, now if I wanted to use wireless mics with the HC3, is this possible or am I SOL? Will the shoe support lights as well and perhaps an XLR adapter?
There is no mic adaptor nor mic input on the HC3 other than the Active Interface Shoe adapter that allows for very specific parts as found on the Sony HC3 webpage (the ECM is one of those parts)
No XLR adaptor works, including that from the A1U. It works, but it splits the channel off very strangely with one out of phase from the other.

Wouldn't this be easy enough to fix in Vegas?
I mean a PIA and a potential disaster if you forgot to fix it but still better than no external mic input.
Still by the time you somehow sourced that unit as a Sony spare part I'd imagine it might have been cheaper to just buy the A1 in the first place.
so was this cam a bad idea to use in the field for production? Cant imagine interviews will sound too well at fotball games etc... Any suggestions on what I need to make this happen?
