Maybe this has been present in earlier incarnations of "Reader" . .but to be able to hear a manual is great for me . . So THAT is what Edward Troxel sounds like?
Spot, thanks for clearing that up! Hell, I should play with submenus more often. Would've been neat if when I started 6 it said " You - can - now - hear - me - when I'm - reading - your PDF. Just - click - on . . ."
Peter . . silly boy! Even I know you can't HEAR stuff from a printed page! Duoah! :)
The adobe acrobat reader download includes a download manager and yahoo toolbar. Kinda crappy but you can chose not to install them.
Acrobat full version will install the yahoo toolbar (you can elect to not install it also) and also installs viewpoint media manager (which you can un-install).
Viewpoint used to collect persoanl info - but now has changed its policy under a lot of pressure .. though it still phones home ..
acrobat also makes a outgoing connection on the net , but can be blocked by a firewall..
there are now lots of free plugin and pdf readers - like http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php and also alternitive free and low cost pdf writers that do 90% of full version acrobat and work great ..
Acrobat Reader also sticks a VBA in your temp folder every time you open a pdf file. New as of version 6. Of course those of you in Europe don't have to worry as much because your spam laws are much stricter.
