OT: Amazing Power Supply - $74.99 AR

I have seen many posts on these forums regarding computer problems that end up being attributed to a poor power supply. Increasingly manufacturers (especially those of computer cases) are inserting low quality power supplies that fail after a short period of time or fail after adding a few things to the case. The companies play games with the power ratings and intentionally confuse people who don't understand them.

The Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-550 ATX12V 550W power supply is the best on the market for the money and is available from Newegg for $74.99 after a $15 rebate.

The power supply has:
1 x Main connector (20+4 pin)
1 x 12V (P4)
7 x peripheral
4 x SATA
2 x Floppy
2 x PCI-E

It is also SLI certified, has a single large 120mm fan, and weighs a full 5 lbs.

Out of 437 voters at the Newegg site this power supply had an average rating of 5 out of 5.

Yes, I bought this PSU as well. Nice, solid psu with all the connections one would need for newer systems. I dunno about "best on the market" but it's pretty solid and a great deal.

I also bought an APC 1000watt UPS to keep it all a lil safer (only $99.00).

Some people might want to look into getting a solid UPS if you've experienced brown/blackouts.

I got the TP2 500 and it is indeed nice...and very quiet with it's two 120mm fans. It also has longer cords for people who put their PSU at the bottom of the case.
