OT: AviSynth: avs2avi: works on W7 ???

AvsP is a script editor for AviSynth that can also run the script, both to preview and (via its Tools menu, "avs2avi" option), to an AVI codec e.g. Cineform. Works fine under XP 32-bit but not under Windows 7, where "avs2avi" just says "Unable to open" <source file>. Tried Compatibility mode, which stops the error message but no codec prompt appears and no AVI file gets written.

Anyone managed to fathom this one out?

Looks like AvsP has been superseeded by AvsPmod.
The Doom9 forums might offer help.

Looks useful.

Thanks Geoff. I tried AvsPmod but sadly it made no difference. I am asking around (http://blog.davidesp.com/archives/388) and will as you suggest try Doom9, e.g. see if there's an AvsPmod forum there.

For unknown reason, it now works fine. Didn't knowingly change anything on my system. Perhaps was simply a case of overnight shutdown/reboot refreshing something.

False post! I had changed something, I had re-installed AViSynth, replacing 2.5.8 with 2.5.7. Just in case that helps anyone else.
