OT - Best DivX encoder

Hi,

I have never made a DivX file so pardon my lack of knowledge, please.

One of our core business activities is producing CBT for Intranet delivery. Ran into a major problem with the latest mainifestations of Click2Learn's ToolBook II and CMS Pro: video now must be *.avi to prevent multiple instances of Media Player opening on a page that already has an audio object.

Is there such a thing as a DivX encoder with batch encoding capability? If you had to remake 1500 video clips running from 30 seconds to 5 minutes in length, which program would you use? Sad thing is in August we finally finished converting all the MPG1 files to Windows Media 8! Now this. Aren't you glad you are not in the CBT delivery business? This is why I prefer doing Health and Safety Audits and Incident Investigations!

thanks,

I'm told Procoder has about the best DivX and Xvid encoders. When we get our new DVD player I might buy Procoder as this latest generation player will play HD XVid and that's a big plus for corporate content onto plasma etc.

If you download the DivX codec, I'm pretty sure Vegas will happily encode to it, with pretty good results. There are a bunch of batch render scripts for Vegas out there that might be helpful.

If you get the free one they put that adware crap on your comp. I'd recommend paying the $30 or whatever.

I bought the Dr. DivX. I remember all about the adware/spyware!

Procoder 1.5 has a GREAT DivX encoder. 2.0 isn't as good. I'm not sure what happened in there.

That explains something, speaking with the local Canopus guys last week they didn't seem that thrilled with DivX, maybe they weren't aware it'd gone backwards.
