Yea, but why [itwo/i] identical huge catelogues?

I got them also, one says Volume 1, the other says Volume 2.

Haven't looked to compare the contents of each to see if they are identical on the inside.

I now have almost a full foot of B&H catalogs on my shelf. Not quite sure, in this day of the Internet, why they still do this.

I love to thumb through the B&H catalogs and I like the fact that I don't have to be in front of the computer to do it.

I agree, nothing like thumbing though paper. Sad human trait I guess. Between monster phone books and Radio Spares catalogues to say nothing of the 1,000+ page manuals I get in bulk because of my other business there's a lot of trees in my bookshelves.

Can'r speak highly enough of B&H though. We've bought a lot of kit off them lately. Simple tasks like rejigging our orders to save freight didn't faze them one bit.

reason in the intro works for me: you can't search the net for something you don't know about.

I've got 4 books. Two @ my future address, two at my current. :)

Book 1 is pre-production (cameras, VCR's, etc). Book 2 is post production (software, editing hardware, etc).

It is actually amazing to see their store in NY, I was there a few years back. At least for small denmark the store was 'huge' :-)

For me it was like a kid in 'toys r us', but my wife had me on a leash :-)

Ditto. I do NOT want them and simply dumped them in recycling just like every other time I get these.
