OT: black CD's bad in DVD drive?

Howdy. I have 50 of those multicolored CD's. I burn them in my CD-RW drive and test them in my DVD+RW before I delete stuff off my HD (I make monthly backups). I've used all the colors (red, blue, purple, orange, and black), but, the black ones don't seem to read in my DVD+RW drive. Does anyone else have this problem (or have heard of it)? The other color disks work fine in my DVD drive.

I've had problems with black CDs. I used them to archive several programs so I wouldn't lose them if a hard drive failed. After months of trying, I finally was able to find a friend's computer that read one of the black one's in particular. I was able to copy those programs to the hard drive, but immediately after I made the copy, the CD refused to be read again. No more black CDs for me. I've wasted enough time with them

The colored CD's are basically a gimick and have casued lots of problems with people losing their data. If you want to do good backups that you will be able to retrieve data later you should use normal CD's.

I've never had any problems with the non-black colors. The black ones look soooooooo cool though. :)

But yeah, i'm going to get "normal" cd-r's next time I buy some.
