Circuit City this week is offering a Sony Blu-ray Player (BDP-S300) for $299.99 and Toshiba HD-DVD (HD-A3) for $249.99.

Add a 10% discount if you order by web and pick up at store using coupon code XUAH3CJAT3. God for one use only on a single receipt until 12/22. There are exclusions on some items. Try it in your web order cart and see.

I have the Sony for $269.99 wait at the store.

I just picked up the Samsung BD-P1400 1080p Blu-Ray Disc Player at Amazon.com for $279.98. I haven't had a chance to plug in it yet (just got it yesterday and don't have any Blu-ray movies yet).

I also picked up an LG Blu-ray/HD DVD-ROM Model GGC-H20L for $299 for my PC. It's both Blu-ray and HD DVD in Read Only and also burns DVD's & CD's. This way you can watch either on your PC.

Value Electronics in Scarsdale, NY has the Toshiba HD-A3 for $199.99 with free shipping for Home Theater forum members. I have purchased from them twice. They are very reputable. Two free HD DVDs in the box. Three from Value Electronics. Five from Toshiba via mail in rebate.(takes awhile to get them).

Just an FYI. The low end Blue-Ray players that are below $300.00 will not play burned Blue-Ray discs. You need the second level player for around $600.00 for that. The bottom line will only play store released Blue-Ray discs. Atleast that is what the specs say.

They do play the AVCHD disks burnt to dvd, no problem.

So far I've had the Toshiba A2 (returned it).
Paid $176.00 for the Toshiba A3 on black friday, returned it.
I'm just to spoiled using a Sony Playstation 3 and the Blu-Ray Format.
