OT: Blue Screen Tip! It's in front of us!

A little experiment with big options . . .

A wanted some small objects clearly superimposed against a different background - Blue Screening? - Now where did I see a blue screen recently? My laptop screen! You got it! Supported the objects on the end of a pencil, rested against the blue screen part of "My Desktop" tft of my laptop. Took some footage with my Canon XM2. Uploaded to my graphics editor. Got rid of the blue and produced a perfect "Object Mask". I may progress to moving objects and do a proper "moving" Chroma Key - "Small is Beautiful" - yeah?

I may progress to "Things on Strings" or "Super Rubber [US=Eraser!]" or "Super-Heroes of the Office Worktop!"

Cool tip :) I guess it wouldn't work with a CRT 'cause of the scan lines? Oh well, one more reason to buy a TFT!

What a twist! First BS drives us crazy, then BS drives us deleriously happy. Must be a zen thing. What does it matter - it's in the past! Grob

You Say Mask, and the moving chroma, what is the difference, I tried Chromakey to get rid of the background and it worked,,,,but is there a better way? better quality?

Thanks Rick

TR - Just got back to this thread - been out earning money! - In what I said I mean I've used my graphic editor to do a "still" mask - not a chroma key procedure. When I get around to it, I'll have animated/moving things. It's not about "better" it's about when I get around to doing it - yeah?
