OT: bluetooth ... is it useful?

Hi all,

I'm still spec'ing out my new laptop. Talk about a full-time job. Anyway, just curious if anyone out there can provide good reasons to include bluetooth capability in the final configuration. Is there anything more to it than support for a wireless keyboard or mouse?

Thanks for any and all opinions on the matter.

Scott

I wish my laptop had built in bluetooth. It's great to sync my PDA and phone with bluetooth - no cords to lose etc. Of course I had to get a little Belkin buetooth dongle so now I have to keep track of that little bugger. Now if I had it built in....

I'm glad mine doesn't, especially with the virus' that Bluetooth has been found to dispense lately. I was using BT to sync my phone with my Outlook, but now I just use the cradle because I was always synced but my battery would die because I'd forget to plug it in.
For my money, if you have a choice of WIFI vs Bluetooth, take WIFI. But if you don't travel a lot...it might not be as important.

Well, the choice is WiFi and Bluetooth, or just WiFi alone. I'm definitely getting WiFi.
