OT: Burn Directly to DVD from XM2?

Huh!

Just been given a thought provoking idea from somewhere else . .. apologies if this has been done to death . . .

There are realtime DVD players/burners out there. Could I lash up the output from my XM2 to one of these boxes and get a playable DVD out the other side?

Grazie

So many of them it's hard to choose.
Many have firewire input, some have HDD you can write to first.
The really good ones let you use your own images for the menus, Datavideo has one that I think will do this, Pioneer have a very expensive unit that'll do it also.
Plus I'm told with the right magic bit of knowledge you can put the image along with a certain bit of code onto a CD, load that into the drive and the recorder will write that to flash memory as the background image. I've never found out any more than this though.

Of course you don't get anything like the flexibility of using DVDA.
