I built a site using a flash template for my day job. I have flash mx 2004 and have struggled with learning it ever since I bought it (got it cheap as my wife was at university so we got the student discount). So, anyways, I got this template and built the site, but I want to make a jump link within the text field. I know that flash is not an html editor, but I do know that some codes work in flash and I have utilized some. What I want to do is create a hyperlink to where if it is clicked (I do not want an image, just straight text) it will jump down in the text field to the appropriate section that I have tagged for the jump. I have been waiting for an answer on whether this can be done for 3 days in the macromedia flash user forum but no hits yet and I have often bumped the topic to no avail. Any help would be greatful. The html code to do this in a normal web page will not work, or at least I haven't been able to get it to work. Thanks for any help!

I don't use FlashMX, but in my flash program, I can have a button script set the scroll position in the text box....not sure if FlashMX does the same thing.

Edit:
Since my scripting *should* be compatible with FlashMX, try this:

scroller = [element you want to scroll]
scroller.scroll = [line number]

I can warmly recommend the newbie flash list - there are competent and friendly folks there too, equivilent to SPOT and many others on this group.

I have often wondered how cool it would have been for Flash to have been built by the folks that built Vegas - you can't slide the size of timelines or just drop in files using a Explorer , there is no library of transitions or effects to apply, or velosity envelopes etc etc you have to build a serious amont of stuff yourself from scratch. Sure there are action scripts etc - but you have to really be able to construct them yourself in order to apply them in any further respect.
