OT- camcorder repair question

BobMoyer wrote on 11/10/2014, 9:09 AM
Panasonic 900 suddenly stopped working (won't power on with either battery or AC). Called Panasonic and they recommended McAllen Exchange Center in Texas and United Radio Inc. in East Syracuse NY. Anyone have dealings with either one of these...any recommendations? Certainly would appreciate any input as this camera quit in the middle of a hockey game. Don't think it was the temp in the arena as I have captured about 15 games there over the last two years with no problems.

Thanks,
Bob

Edit: I am going to cross post this on the COW as panic begins to set in.

I've had great experiences with http://camcorderrepair.com/.

A really reputable company that you can even call just to pick their brain about what they think is wrong and what it may cost. Free estmiate as well and they will send back your camera at no cost if you don't want to make the repair.

Photo-Tronics in Seattle -- http://www.photo-tronics.com/ -- has repaired several cameras and decks for us over the past five years. I recommend them highly.

+1 for Camera Solutions in Portland, OR. As I recall, they charge a minimum deposit ($250?) to ensure you are serious, but for my old Sony HC3's, their bill was always far less than sending them to Sony!
