OT: Camcorder suggestions?

I have an AG-DVX100 which I am very happy with. I was thinking about getting a 2nd mini-DV camera. I'd like to get something smaller, but still with good video quality. Price-wise, I'd like to see around $1k or less.

The PV-GS70 seems like one option, but I haven't found a detailed review of it. I'm guessing it might be missing features like white-balance.

Anyone have comments or suggestions on this or other cameras? Web links would be good too.

I bought the gs-70 a couple months ago to shoot instructional video. Very happy with it. Color is good, it likes light (as all 3ccd cams do), has manual white balance, manual focus, iris, shutter. Of course it has auto settings for all of these if you so choose.

It is a tiny little thing, but it works great. I felt it was the best bang for the buck.

Yes, PV-GS70 is an amazing little machine for the buck. I purchased one form Circuit City about a month and a half ago for $825. I just completed a project with it and am currently editing. I'd just come from using a Canon GL-2 earlier in the summer. Picture quality is phenomenal. The Panasonic GS-70 held up great in a side by side comparison of results from GL2. I found the colors to be truer from the GS-70.

Most of the same features, professional results and 1/3 the price of the Canon GL2 and similar models. Also, the components and interface will be familiar when you stay in the Pana family. The only feature I really miss alot is Optical Image Stabilization. But, I'm using a Steadicam alot of the time so it doesn't bother me too much.

Get this camera. It fits in your pocket. You'll have fun with this little guy.
