These are both great cameras. I have a Canon Powershot A610 and it works very well. Replaced the A95. These are the lowest prices I have found on these cameras. Dell Home has it until 12/6.

Canon PowerShot A620 7-MP.

Both use SD cards and have great reviews. Best High Speed SD card for the money is the Ritek SDCR1G-SILV card. Lowest price is from either Newegg or ChiefValue. The SDCR1GB-GLD is a little cheaper, but also very good. Both cards are 1GB.

We gave our teen daughter a Canon A60 a couple of years ago. Aside from the fact that it's a 2mp camera, it have been utterly reliable and useful, producing excellent photos that look flawless as 4x6 or even 5x7 snapshots. Only downside is that it takes 4 AA cells, so it's heavier and bulkier than the modern equivalents. I like that these new cameras still stick with AA cells; on my documentary tours with groups of kids and parents I usually ran into some that had forgotten to bring their charger for their specialized battery pack, or who ran out of power at an inopportune moment. At least with AA cells, you can find power at any store in the world.
