OT: CDR/DVD Burner problem

Everytime I insert a blank CDR (Not an autorun) into the Plextor CDR/RW on my PC it doesn't auto detect and open up to view the contents. When I click on the drive icon in My Computer I get a Windows Explorer error message: E:\is not accessible. Incorrect function...or an "I/O Error" message.

It shows up in the device manager.

Same problem with the Pioneer DVD/RW Burner.

I need to use the XP pro "Write these files to disk" feature.

What can I do to get these drives to recognize blank media?

Sounds like you're expecting Ranier functionality from Winbloze XP pro. Not sure if that's supported or not. But you should be able to use the CD burner software that came with the Plextor or Pioneer drives to write to the disks.

In the "Device Manager" under the properties for the drive is the option for "Auto Insert Notification" selected?
