OT: Computer Monitors

My two monitors are about to die. They have gotten so blurry I can barely read what I'm typing. Don't know why they're doing that.

Anyway, any suggestions on some LCD monitors... 15' or 17' ...at a decent price. I really don't want to spend more than $300 for each....would love to see $250 or so... because i have to get two.

thanks
jeremiah

Seems odd that they'd both die at the same time. Are you sure it isn't your graphics card? Or just a loose cable?

I think Brian makes a good point about both failing at the same time. I would check that out.

In the thread where I found the good deal, someone found a better deal by combining coupons. I didn't look at the details,so you have to check out the thread to see how it works, but the post is:

or the Dell UltraSharp 19" LCD (1905FP) for $260.42 + tax.

$499
- $174.65 (35% off)
- $35 ($35 off $300)
- $28.94 (10% off DPA)
$260.42 = Total.

$260 is unbelievable for that monitor. It was over $500 in February.

Sounds like it is discontinued. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Just makes you wonder what is next.

I really enjoy the "guess what is next" game except when I am buying. That is the pits.

here is what you need:

kidding aside, this place has some sweet looking mult-monitor setups, but at a premium price. they're just fun to look at and dream.

Well, both monitors didn't go out at the same time. One got darker and fuzzy then about a week later the second one went fuzzy. I plugged them up to other computers and they are still bad...so its not the card.

Anyway, thanks for the input

We had a large set of identical Teco™ (whoever they are) monitors that all* went bad just about 3 years to the day after the installation date. They were all used just about 40 hours per week. If Jer's monitors were identical and purchased at the same time then it's quite possible they would fail at about the same time too.

* well, all
