OT: Comsumer level Camera Recommendation for a cli

I have a client that wants to create simple product videos: Logo, Presenter with product on a table, talk, talk, 'Good by', Logo. They have asked me to recommend an HD camera. IMO needs to have an external mic input and record at data rates that are easily editable on dual core PCs. I'll be recommending Vegas Movie Studio. Any favorite inexpensive cameras you can recommend? Thanks for your ideas.
