OT: Creating Mixed-mode CDs- data and audio tracks

Hi. I need to create a CD-R with both PC data files and some sound tracks that can be played in a CD player. When I use Nero 5.5.10.7 to create the CD, it gives me a 'Mixed-mode' option. Problem is, when I use this option, the CD-player sees the data track as the first track, and plays it-- total silence (the remaining tracks are the audio tracks, which work fine). Nero online-help says something about creating a CD-Extra as a solution, but their help screens don't correspond with my software-- there are no CD-Extra options that I kind find with my version (the latest version).

Does anyone create these types of CDs successfully, and what do you use? Also, does anyone know if there is a way to solve this problem in Nero? Thanks!

Are you using the Nero Express, or the full version of Nero??

Thank you. I was using the full version of Nero. I checked Nero Express and that's where the option is! I don't get it. It's like they have two competing versions of Nero in the same program. Maybe it's just me, but I've obviously found this confusing. And their help screen was useless!
