A short story that renews my faith in American manufacturers:
I bought a pair of Crown PZM-30D microphones in January, 2002, to use for my opera videos. These omni PZM mics work great for theater -- the echo-cancelling effect makes the singers sound nearby wherever they are on the stage, and I can gaff-tape the mics to the stage rather than climb up a ladder to hang a microphone. Balance with the orchestra is good too.
Anyway, one of them crapped out and I sent it to Crown for repair. Turnaround took about a month, but to my surprise they fixed it under warranty even though it's almost 3 years since I bought it. Came back with a frequency response test graph, too.
It's good to see a manufacturer stand behind their product.
