OT: Do replication houses take things other than DLT for DVD9?

Samus wrote on 4/23/2005, 3:43 PM
I was looking all over discmakers.com and noticed dual layered replication REQUIRES DLT's. Unfortunately DVD Architect 3 does not detect my Quantum DLT4000. Anyway, is there any other way to make a dual layered DVD master that a replication house (other than discmakers obviously) would allow? A hard drive master maybe? Uploading an ISO via an FTP? I have no idea. I know this must get tricky thanks to the whole dual layer thing...

thanks in advance

Some will take a removable hard drive. You need to contact the
ones in your area.

FTP even with a 2Mbit cable modem would take a long time and
most likely woul not be an option from te replicator.

Sony posted some time ago they had a replicator they used that
took drives.

I would first see if customer support can help you get your DLT
back. as you have alot of money tied up in your equipment.

Device manager sees the device fine. Maybe I am using the wrong type of SCSI terminator? Wrong type of SCSI card? It's set to the wrong SCSI channel? The cable is wrong? I don't know, but that wouldn't make sense since Windows sees it and the DLT testing program works fine with it.

Is there any additional software or drivers I may need for this thing for Architect 3 to see it?

Most will take a DVD-R as a master.

Not for DVD9 projects.

What Windows are you using?

When you installed DVDA3, were you logged in as Administrator
or a user that had admin rights?

Administrator. I am using XP.

I am thinking the problem is something NOT with DVD Architect 3, since Windows Backup does not recongize my DLT drive.

But since 1 other DVD Authoring program *AND* a DLT diagnostic program both see and operate my drive first, you can all tell why I am very confused.

Try a different SCSI channel.

If by that you mean press the number thing on the back of the unit and change it I have done that to no avail.

We will accept your vegas project files if you cannot output them to DLT and handle all of the premastering for you.
