OT: dual display

hi all
i have a matrox G550 dual head video card, 15" nec lcd for primary and a 17" viewsonic CRT secondary display. i m thinking to get another 15"lcd to replace my 17" CRT. my question is, is it worth getting a dual mode lcd with digital input? would it be better for video previewing and other application like photoshop?
thanks

Once you get use to it, (maybe an hour) you'll probably never go back from a LCD to a CRT monitor. The colors are brighter, richer, more contrast. BUT... don't get one if you plan to use it as an "adjustment" montor to correct color hue or level for video to be viewed on a television. For that you just need a regular TV with video in and a firewire card/digitaal camera or digital/analog "black box" device. OR a NTSC monitor. Which is rather expensive and in my view overkill.

Thanks Billyboy
i do read some articles on ur web. now i use external monitor via 1394>sony dv cam, i do color adjustment on the tv.
i just want to know if a digital lcd will play back smoother frame to frame compared to a analog lcd monitor. someone told me that there is no difference lcd with dvi, unless i m going to watch dvd. i can live with lcd and crt monitors, the thing is i dont have enough room on my desk, now i put the second monitor on the far right, if i get another 15" lcd, i can put them size by size. man it is hurting my neck :( . i dont really know if it is worth spending another $100cdn for a lcd w/dvi input.

btw, ur web looks great, i do learn a lot. cheers!

A LCD with digital input (in theory anyways) should be able to give you a sharper picture, but I doubt the extra cost is worth it. AFAIK a digital input won't help the frame rate at all unless I'm totally missing something.

Billyboy
i think you are right. when i set the preview to draft mode, it playback smoother, depending on the cpu i guess.
thanks for ur comment :)
