OT: DVD/CD Burning Software?

Okay, since I can't afford Sony's DVD software presently, I'm starting to look into alternative DVD/CD burning software. My DVD recorder drive came with Pinnacle software for burning DVD/CD's, but I'm not too keen on it.

So what burning software would some of you suggest looking into?

I'm not looking for software for "only" creating/burning video's to DVD, but an overall burning software good for file backup as well.

I've always loved Prassi Primo DVD, and now what it has changed into Record Now Max from Stomp. A lot of people seem to like nero, I personally hate it :) I know Gear also makes some good burning / mastering programs as well.

Besides Nero, DVD Movie Factory from Ulead is pretty good and inexpensive, there are others that may not have that many bells and whistles but if all you need to start is a basic DVD burning applicaion there are many in the sub $100 range.

Screenblast Movie Studio supposedly comes with DVD authoring software doesn't it? Would it work for you? I've seen it for as cheap as $49.

Just a thought......
