OT: DVD duplicator recommendations

DVDeviations wrote on 4/17/2005, 12:59 PM
I will be looking at DVD duplicators at NAB. I just need a "small" DVD duplicator, that duplicates between 1-4 DVDs. If anyone is really happy with his/her DVD duplicator, it would be great to know.

I know on a previous post, someone mentioned that it is cheaper to build your own, however, you also don't have the support that you get when you purchase a product from someone who specializes in that particular product.
On the other hand, the salesmen never tell you about the particular little "hang ups" that the system may suffer.

Thanks,
Colleen

If you would take interest in building your own, I've built many for my group and would be willing to walk you through it. I'm at the NAB with my wife and could exchange cell phone or however you would want to say hi. I'll send a note wth my cell #.

Most sellers are building the same thing you could and are making $300 to $600 profit on it.

Colleen: Call Gary McNally (McNally Plug n Play) when you get to the NAB floor (530-448-9009, cell.) We bought a three burner unit from him about a year ago that we're very happy with -- all Pioneer burners -- and he builds a line that includes three, five and seven burner units. His three disc unit is $899, the five disc is $1099 and the seven disc unit is $1299.

Gary sent out an email bulletin about another product, with instructions to call at him at NAB for info, so I'm sure he'll be happy to meet with you.

If you are interested in building your own check this thread and this thread.

Quite the contrary. ILY for example will give you all the tech support you need. They even followed up to see how it went when I ordered the controller and case from them. I didn't even order the burners from them.
Most of the vendors who sell the parts to build your own also sell ready built ones so the tech support is the same in that respect.
