OT: DVD9 authoring

Just looking for some do's and don't's in trying to create a
[120 min DVD9 using 8mbps bit rate] glass master for replication using DVDA2

Will I need a more feature rich authoring program?
The project will chronicle "a year in the life" type thing...

Can I create what I need in DVDA2 and outsource to a replication house for the glass master, replications?
Any good low rate DVD9 replicators out there?

TIA!!!

Gary

DVDA can't provide you with ANY DVD9 options whatsoever.
You'll need to use a third-party tool such as REEL, Encore (doesn't work well) or Ulead DVD Workshop.
Evatone in Florida is a good, fast DVD 9 replicator company.

Why a DVD-9? 120 minutes means a video bitrate of 4.8Mb/sec, which is very doable. You'll need some careful encoding, but I presume the latest version of MainConcept can do a reasonable job with this (I don't use it; I have CinemaCraft).

The trick in CinemaCraft is to use multiple passes and VBR encoding.

It might be a lot simpler than going the DVD-9 route (for the moment).

And at 8 Mbits / sec you run the risk of some players not coping too well I think.
