OT: Emergency help with extracting ACVHD footage

Someone is shooting a video of our company and wanted 1 minute of 'B' roll from one of our remote locations. Our guy there says 'no problem' I'll send it, I have a new HD vidcam (don't know brand).

Well deadline is here and he can't get the footage off the camera as it uses the hard drive vs mini-DV. Claims the software he downloaded is corrupt. WMM won't work for him.

Any suggestions... we only need raw footage & they will edit. I'd like to tell to send his camera & take one for the team.

Really appreciate it!

Tell him to try hooking it up to some different PC's. It should be recognized as another drive yes? If that fails, you could try doing passthrough via another camera that supports that feature and capture it that way.
