OT: ?External Mike Suggestion

I have a mini disc recorder(iRiver h120) with poor external Mike. Could anyone suggest a Stereo External Microphone. Should it be powered or un-powered? (I plan to use it at a concert I am filming for the performer, and will match audio and video up later in Vegas Video. Thanks in advance. -Diego

The Audio Technica 822 is considered by many to be the "standard" for this type of thing.

If you have the option, turn off the built in compression. Not sure of this brand, but the sony md recorders have bad built in limmiting.
