OT: Finding Videographers in Other Areas...

We are based in Southern CA but our client base/network is Nationwide. Part of what we offer in our Marketing package is the option to have Video... commercials, web, DVD, etc. Soon we will need to do some shoots in the Seattle, WA area. From there we'll move to another target region, so on & so forth. In the past we have scheduled 'Road Trips' and sent a 2man DV crew out to do the required shoot and mail or bring the tapes back to the studio. Same thing for local shoots. Send out a 2man DV crew to get the shots.

My questions are
- If/When you need to find a Videographer or small Production Crew to do Interviews and get some B-Roll in another state... how do you go about it?
- Where do you look?

I have used this forum as have others.. not sure its allowed ,but it works. Also could roll the dice and try craigs list, or there are several companies that provide this service , here in the southeast there is a company called gototeam,, don't think they are national, but I'm sure there are bunches of such companies on the west coast

craigslist.org of the area or mandy.com

both will get you awful or amazing workers depending on who you hire. Just make sure to watch their reel and see that they can walk the talk.

Check other state's film boards. Many have a registry.
