Hi - anyone going to try this? Does it work well for capturing from camcorders and then transferring to pc hard drive for editing in Vegas?

http://www.videoguys.com/FireStore.html#fs1

workflow issues/insights? compatibility/reliability feedback?

sounds like it 's a brand new product, any thoughts?

appreciate it..

hey, also -- except for seminars, I do all my video work here at the house..any suggestions on best workflow to get footage from camcorder and into vegas, other than typical firewire capture via vegas off dv tape (as I've been doing?)... I have SM's DV rack, I could install that on a laptop, take to basement studio, but would still have to transfer footage from laptop to external hard drive, to then attach to the pc? ideas would be great... thoughts?

I shoot with Rack straight to another hard drive. I don't use the internal drive on my laptop. Too risky, since my laptop only has one drive.
The Firestore is a great unit, I personally prefer the Nnovia, same unit you see in Trish and Mark VonLanken's set up in that magazine.

Spot, when you say you record to another drive, do you use USB2? Firewire?
