OT: Firewire to Ethernet adapter: it exist?

I have a computer with only 1 PCI slot that's being used for a firewire card. there's no onboard ethernet, no USB, and no ISA slots. Plus I need to hook it up to a network (a fileserver).

So, I know there is USB to Ethernet adapters, I want to know if there is a firewire to Ethernet adapter. And, where I could find one. Thanks!

I don't see one.

But you could always replace your firewire board with a combo card for $25, and then use a USB/ethernet adapter.

Yeah, I thoughtof that. I already got the firewire card though. :) Guess it's cheaper then buying a new MB (especially when you need a slot 1 for a P3!).

If your fileserver has Firewire, you could simply use a Firewire cable to link the two. It's not ideal, but the server should be able to bridge its Firewire connection to its Ethernet.

try this:

www.unibrain.com

...and check out their firenet product. I've used it and it's OK.
