OT Flack's FTP site for Icarus Tutorial Movie

Hi I began a new thread because the old 'Steadycam" one was getting too long. I had posted a message there earlier about how to get to Flack's ftp site. I cannot figure this one out:

Try this with a ftp prog

user markey

pass video

IP mashadmin.no-ip.info

port 21123

you should be able to grab it from me there....

So if there is a direct link I wouild like to know it, I have no ftp prog. to run the above information. I really wan t to get that movie zip file.

You can d/l a free FTP client, like LeechFTP (which I recommend.)

That aside, I can't login to this FTP site :/

If you're running Windows 95 or higher, you have an FTP program built in already. Open up a DOS command prompt window, move to the directory where you want to store the file, then type in

ftp mashadmin.no-ip.info

You'll be prompted for the username and password. You don't mention a directory path, which could mean that the file is stored in the root ftp directory. Use the ls command to view the directory and the cd command to change directories. When you've found the file, use

get filename

to retrieve it. When you're done, type in quit

Just an FYI - I get "connection refused" for this ftp.
(More specific: "Can't connect to remote server. Socket error = #10060")

hey guys you must use passive mode to connect try this ip addy I have been having some problems with my redirector service.. going down because of all the virus traffic.

I can download everything from the site but have to use "Markey" not "markey" as the username - makes no difference whether or not I use passive mode. BUT building2.avi is still missing - could it be posted separately please?

Hi you all, I have just been going through the instalation of Icarus 2.07 full version and it has the tutoial files , building 1 etc. It can be dowloaded from:

This was from Frenchy's post earlier on the "steadycam" thread. The download is big 43-47 megabytes because of the tutorial files apparently. Even with the tutorial files the "Help" is still grayed out in the main Icarus screens. That's why I missed them until I looked into the folder under programs. The site is Eastern European but all the downloads are English names. Go get 'em.

Server is even slower... my cable connection is reporting 700 bytes/second and a 13 hour download--a lot of congestion! I'll just let it run for awhile and see what happens, but it would be great if anyone can upload it to a faster local server and provide access.

I finished it too and the weird thing is that it is only 46 megs and for the install under custom is says the tutorials require 41 megs...and when I try to install just the tutorials I get an error saying I do not have enough hard drive space. Something seems screwy.

I installed 2.07 and in the Tutorial I have 13 files for Calibation, 1 for Distortion and 7 for Reconstruction, outer directories Tutorial, Calibration, Distribution, FAQ, Homepage,User group, license,uninstall,and user guide. I think have a complete 2.07 product. The install exe file I downloaded is 47.110 meg. I still have it.

Ok you guys this is becoming a pain in the but.... I have installed the programe and it starts up ok, but when I try to load a project it tells me it can't find the files, but all files are there.

If I use open with and select Icurus to open the files (avi) it tells me wrong format, file not supported !huh!!!

All the files are there I have checked to see if there is an ini. file to change for the file sample locations but it still will not pull any projects in..

Has any of you guys had the same problem, I have seen a earlier post with an error can't find files.

Yes bud I am having some trouble at the moment, one with all the traffic and the other with the re-director service... they will be overloaded as well.

I have took it off line for a while, I am going to check it all... it will be back up in an hour or two...

I downloades the 2.07 for that foreign site, at the place where I work (they have a t-1 line there) and used Getright to download it. I copied it to my pen drive, took it home and installed it and got what posted earlier. 2.07 seem to work fine for me. I told it where my clips are, it only seems to like only one at a time though, I guess 'll read the pdf User Guide the figure this one out.

This virus stuff is causing weirdness at work too, the t-1 was running at only 7 Kbs and dropped to 3.5. It took 2 hours to download it with 1 pause of an hour, a total of 3 hours. I seem to have it all OK.

My ftp seems to be ok now as well, a lot of people have d/l it... I have also put the modified projects files in a zip file so they can d/l and be copied over the originals which have a wrong pointer to the install dir..

Suggest you download WS_FTP and work with the settings until you get it to work.
It's pretty straightforward, use the params given earlier in this thread.
A lot easier than learning telnet or dos commands if you're new to it.
