OT:Flash/Sorenson Squeeze

This is way off topic but... Anybody have any experience with Sorenson Squeeze, converting .avi to Flash? I downloaded the SorensonSuite demo, converted an .avi to a .swf video but it doesn't play...I've downloade Macromedia Flash & Shockwave players but they don't recognize the video file Squeeze produces. I tried to play the video in QT and Irfanview players but just got sound.
Any help will be appreciated.

I recently bought the Squeeze 3 Compression Suite--what a sweet tool--what great looking compressed video! Anyway, as you are aware, it actually outputs two different Flash file types. The regular .swf file you refer to should play in your browser. The other file type, .flv, is new to me, so I'm not certain about the player it requires. However, if you go to page 65 in the pdf Users' Manual, it should explain some things and possbily answer your question.

If you'd like to see the few samples I've compressed thus far, go to:

Yes, read the user manual--the entire section on Flash files. You must have Macromedia's player installed, too, by the way.

If you'd like to see a Flash sample, go to:
http://www.gooddogproductions.com/flash_test.htm

Copy the source code from <embed> to after </embed> (make sure to include the on/off switches), then paste it into your html page. Remember to change the .swf file name to whatever the name for your Flash file is.

Hope this helps.

Jayglad:

Your Flash test page has outstanding resolution!

Thanks for 'splaining the basics on this. I have not worked with any Macromedia products before. I didn't even know that .swf files automatically played in the browser! I called Sorenson's support group and they were very helpful. We can keep in touch and help each other out via email. Mine is steve@nicholsproductions.com. I appreciate your help!
