I don't know what this was shot on- I assume an SLR WITHOUT A TRIPOD! I like his use of color grading, but I think he overplays the DOF and would benefit from a stabilizer program such as new blue's or DeShaker!
Sorry that the media decided that the Nashville flooding you had to endure with at least 30 people dead and a billion dollars in damages was barely worthy of national coverage. They devoted literally all their time to the Times Square attempted bombing and the Gulf Oil Spill and both their political implications instead.
However. with 24 hours of cable news, there is no excuse for it. I watched the Sunday talk shows on CNN, FOX, and MSNBC and they didn't even mention it at all.
Thanks John. I'm not sure that it bothers me that the national media outlets didn't really cover it much. I'm just glad that I only had less than a thousand in damage. And I am glad that I am able to take care of the damages myself without taking money from FEMA. I'm not saying that others shouldn't use FEMA, I just think that if I have the money saved for emergencies, then I should use what I have instead of depend on the government to aide me.
On the other hand, it was devastating (and still is) to so many families I can't even begin to imagine what they are going through. No one here has flood insurance. This just doesn't happen here. The other day I heard a report that they categorized this as a 500 year flood. My wife's old high school had water up to the goal post "T" where the uprights are attached to the horizontal pole. The halls of the school still has water in them and the cleanup will take months once the waters finally go down.
We were going to attempt a drive to visit my family in Missouri but the roads were still closed and this was just a couple of days ago.
Sorry for the Nashville damage, huge mess. Hope you escape with minimal damages.
Yeah, my family in Missouri knows almost nothing about the Gulf oil spill which will destroy my area. That has dropped off the news map also, almost. They are trying to increase the responsibility cap of BP from $75 million to $10 billion, although it might cause about $1 Trilllion in damages when all is said and done.
The stop sign could have been used better .then emergency, then car wash image. I am not sure if he intended it to be a pun but it came across as one, the swivel chair in the water next to the sign was a good shot as well as the room with the lights on. Where it fails is the human connection , it is missing. Lots of cars and water, like a bad rainy day, its really about people dealing with a flood, which we don’t see.
I’ve always said its more about people than fstops.
