OT: For all those who want 3D but don't want to spend $$$

I just learned of this (I'm sure that there are plenty of you out there that already knew about it, but this is for those that don't/didn't). There's a program called that does 3D design (and I think animation [don't know as I just found out about it, maybe someone else can say]), and it's FREE!!!

Just thought I'd tell you guys so if there's someone new here, or someone who just didn't know, that want's 3D they can have it, I'll even pay ;-)

Free is the best description of software. And it looks really nice.

Indeed, Free is my favorite price.

Looks like some virtual set use could be done with some of the stuff you could do with this program. Now if I could only find like a school classroom one that would awesome.

SWEET!

Blender (www.blender3d.org) is another free(!) program that produces very nice results. The interface is a bit tricky -- but not so bad once you get that hang of it (I'm not saying that I have yet).

have you used both? do you know if the usability is any better, in Anim8or you have to click and change tools for almost everything.

anim8or is WAY simpler then blender, but blender is way more powerfull.

Just tried Anim8or last night for the first time.....Anim8or seems a little more user friendly from the learning curve side of things but you do have to click a button for just about everything you do and that can get old. The extrusion tools seemed restrictive but I only made a couple of quick and simple models and didn't get really deep into it so I can't be sure.

Wings3D is another good freebie.
