Garamond is a TrueType font that came with my copy of Windows Office Suite. Do you have it there? If so, it should be available to any program on your PC.

Also, check out www.highfonts.com and the links it leads you to, and see
http://www.fonts.com/findfonts/detail.asp?pid=202142 for a $22 Garamond set.

By far the best font site I've found is myfonts.com. They not only offer thousands of fonts, but have some very handy tools for finding the font you're looking for. Like if you have a font that you don't know the name of (like in a logo). All you have to do is upload a sample jpg of the font and answer a few questions and the site will try and match it to a font in their library.

Anyone know how to get double byte fonts to work right?
I've managed to find some nice looking free Chinese fonts but they just don't turn up right in the list of fonts, sometimes all I get is a lot of fonts named "?????????".
It's been suggested that to get this to work right I need to run the Chinese version of Windows but I can tell you after trying to use Windoz in China that's not something to be taken lightly for this Chinese challenged Ozzie.
We can enter Chinese no problemo and the Chinses fonts that uStuff supplies work just fine, it's the fancy calligraphy fonts that are spinning me out. Any help much appreciated.

Bob,
Possibly, Microsoft has the chinese you need. Check the update section for your OS. (go there and check yourself, don't click the auto thingy) I know I have to be sure to keep them from being added when I check for OS updates. (I have Win ME) But I don't know if this will help. I just remember I had to bypass some kind of language add-ons to keep from having some kind of Chinese added to my OS. (and it seems there were a lot a slightly different variations too) I rarely go there anymore, so my memory of this may not be that great or if this has anything to do with what you're looking for. ( I think it might, though.)

Thanks,
I'll give it a try. I THINK the problem is that the Chinese fonts that I downloaded have a problem because the font descriptors themselves are in Chinese. The uSoft ones that come with Word etc have the descriptions in Pin Yin (Chinese that uses english characters) and hence the english Windows can display them but that's only a guess.
