You did. I actually have a quiet life outside the music and video production world; I jump out of airplanes. ;-)
Peter, I'll be jumping in Melbourne this November, hoping to get some awesome footage. I'll also be in NSW doing the same. This is my "international year" for flying, I'm shooting in Sweden, maybe England, Singapore, Malaysia, potentially Thailand, and of course, Oz.
Looking at mid October, Grazie, as part of a VASST in Sweden. Hoping to work it out, cuz I love the outskirts of London, and love Herefordshire even more.
Sorry DSE, didn't know you were a jumper, I can't imagine shooting anything while falling to earth ,I would be screaming too much. Hell I darn near had a heart attack para-sailing ,kept the cam rollin though and got some truley unuseable footage.
DSE - verrry interesting, - tell us, what DON' T you do!!
I used to jump but stopped when numerous injuries got me thinking that since I valued staying in one piece more, perhaps I was pursuing the wrong sport, .. broke my leg on the first jump too!.
Loved filming skydivers from the ground/airplanes, but never experienced the excitment of filming in freefall. Hope we will get to see some of your footage taken from up high someday, as I'm sure it will be awesome!
I'm obviously not the one wearing the cam, but here is a finger flight dive, where I'm flying (or trying to fly) on fingers-only.
I'll post some of my own work later today. The article shows what we're using for the camera work. One thing that's a lot of fun, that anyone can do, is fly under a tandem with a video camera, and while you can't film in freefall, you can shoot once under canopy. A lot of people do that, or they take stills from under canopy. You don't need a license or experience.
Sorry to hear you broke a leg, that's never fun. Blue skies!
It's a bird.....it's a plane.....it's superSpot!!! Loved the clip - thanks so much for sharing it.
Re: my broken leg, I was probably one of the the few people to show up at the hospital with a huge grin on my face - and that was BEFORE the painkillers:-)
