OT: Good how-to videos: videomaker review?

Hi - any feedback on:

videomaker.com dvds - advanced/practical, or too brief/beginner? price is right at 8 DVDs for 139, but since just 30 mins each, that's 240, about 4 hours of instruction I think?... how's the quality, anyone?

'light it right' from vasst - reviews?

other instructional how-to video editing & production dvds; reviews?

btw thx coursedesign for forum link to hollywood dvd discount/blocking set, looks interesting..

It would be nice to see a 1-10 rating (10 best) from anyone who's bought and used any videography/lighting/production instructional dvds... appreciate it.. (I'm trying like heck to learn this stuff, still a lot I need to learn about)... forum's a great education here in and of itself, and dmn, would also like dvd training resources...

thx,

ken

Ken,
Great idea... I would also love to hear what other folks have found valuable... .particularly in the actaul mechanics and techniques of shooting good video (preferably on the cheap).

I gave a review of Gary Kleiner's stuff here recently... I give 'em a 9.

For lighting, I got Digital Lighing Magic... awesome for me coming from zero knowledge of the subject. Tons of live examples, before and after, basic and advanced concepts. Also, they always try to show the dirt cheap option (home depot lights etc) AND the more costly professional options... so you at least get a sense for what's out there. I give it a 10.
