OT: Good UPC/EAN Barcode retailer?

Has anybody got any recommendations for a decent reliable UPC barcode retailer? I've read there are lot of iffy characters out there that resell the same codes over and over, or even just make them up. I'd hate to issue my product and then have to recall it as it has the same barcode as a toilet brush or something like that!

What sort of scale are you thinking? - 1/few - lots of products?

Have you talked to your replicator?

Ours will assign a number for you and insert the proper graphic on your
slipcase insert.

Are you saying your UPC number was shared by someone else?

My understanding is a company number is unique (first 6 digits)
in my case registered to the replicator, the remaining digits are assigned by them.

My number was good for two years by contract, we assume all stock
would be sold in that time period, after that there is a slight chance of conflict
with someone's new CD or DVD.

That last paragraph is very disconcerting. No-one should be recycling codes like that - otherwise you can have mutliple products for a

You can register your company if you produce enough products.

$25 bucks for one disc for a fund raiser that would sell out in one year was not a
big concern. It might be a problem is our disc came up as tooth paste!

Hi guys,

I only have one product at the minute, probably goig nto be producign a few thousand units. I went for EZUPC.info in the end. They are run by the guys that make the Boodge panel treatment, which was good enoug hfor me. It only cost 25 odd dollars, and although there was a slight hitch with the certificate they issued me, they soon corrected it and the actual barcodes were fine., The also suplly both UPC's and EAN versions ofthe barcodes in three grpahics formats. pretty good, I think.
