Anyone tried using Scotchlite and LED narrow band illumination in place of the usual matt and evenly lit backdrop? In principle this should work very well (an adaption of the front projection composite techniques used massively for 2001: A Space Odyssey)
Reflecmedia is wonderful, and even better now that they're paired with Ultimatte. Ultimatte needed Reflecmedia more than the other way around, but the pair make a great team, IMO.
I have used it before and is great but very pricey.
If you want to buy the material you can get it at rosebrand.com.
I have a square foot I could sell you for testing. You truely need
to use light rings with the product as it is very directional.
Thanks for the offer. As far as I know 3M supplies it here in Australia. Yes, its very narrow angle of reflectance is the thing that makes it work. Still thinking about the comparative benefits the technique.
That the cloth can be folded up for packing is a great feature, but if you're not needing that then Scotchlite might be cheaper. But I haven't found a price for that.
