Two recent purchases of Sony mics - an ECM678 mini shotgun, and UWPC1 wireless package, have both included a "mic stand adaptor" with a ~20mm thread, which is different to what has been a standard mic stand thread for years - more like 15mm.

Has there been a new standard introduced, or is this just a Sony thing? (I can't find anything to screw them onto!)
