My professor videotaped our recent trip to Rome using a CamCorder that records directly to mini-DVD. I have the Mini-DVD in my computer right now, how do I extract/copy the date to my labtop so I can edit it in Sony Vegas Studio?
depending on the brand you might be able to close the disc on another Camcorder. Worst case scenario go to Best Buy put the disc in one of the Demo Camcorders and close it then take it out and you good! (Good luck explaining to the employee. LOL).
What about Movies? I am trying to burn The Lord of the Rings into my computer to edit it and republish it as my work, is there any way to do that???? (just kiddin).
a) It's using something that Vegas doesn't understand.
b) He lied and didn't finalize it but this is very unlikely as otherwise it would not have a TOC and WMP would not be able to play it as far as I know.
Could this be a candidate for DVD Shrink ??? That just helped me grab some clips from a recording I did with one of those standalone DVD recorders from LiteOn. (Basically like a VCR only uses discs.)
For one reason or another when I would try and import, Vegas would ,"Not Respond" and I couldnt do anything with it. So I just left it alone this time and it worked after 2 minutes all the videos popped up. Just they had no sound but I was going to take that out anyway so no big deal.
Ahhh, yes, i've seen that too. I rarely ever use the DVD import option, but sometimes when i have it's taken hours and most of the time it looked like nothing was happening at all.
My normal method is to play the DVD in a regular set-top player, then use an AV->DV converter to capture it the same way i'd capture a VHS tape. It just plain works, and works well. I can also easily capture as much or as little of the disc as i want that way.
