OT: Help with legal video business

JackW wrote on 10/3/2008, 11:16 AM
My wife and son are in the process of getting certification as legal videographers, pursuant to setting up a business doing same in the Seattle area. My son is the equipment manager for the American League umpires when they are in Seattle and is interested in establishing a business that he can manage during both the baseball season and off-season.

My son Matt is a seasoned businessman and knows the trials and tribulations of running a service such as this. What he isn't familiar with, however, is the current state of the art vis a vis video gear for depositions and the courtroom. Judy, my wife, worked for a Seattle company shooting depositions, but this was more than 10 years ago and the technical requirements of the business have changed considerably since then.

We'd appreciate hearing from anyone who is currently shooting depositions, doing courtroom video, etc., who would be willing to provide advice on the equipment necessary for the business today.

Please respond via my email link, or directly to judy at videoccasions-nw.com, or give us a call.

Many thanks. As always, I appreciate the help of everyone on this Forum.
