OT: High definition luma keying example

dreamlx wrote on 5/23/2005, 10:16 AM
A week ago, I shot some footage under really bad weather conditions... I thought this was a good one to give a try to replace the sky by some blue sky with some clouds (using generated media). To achieve this, I used luma keying in Vegas. If someone is interested in the results that can be gotten this way, I have posted an example here. If anyone is wondering how luma keying is done in Vegas: use the secondary color corrector, enable only luma, apply no colour change and set alpha to 0.

Hi Dreamix.

Beautiful footage. Interesting, changing the color of the sky makes it look like Southern California on a smoggy day.

So that's where the rats from Hameln went! :O)

Anyway, beautiful work!

Did you do this for the city of Bielefeld?

I used to do these things for major city anniversaries especially. In Germany I suspect you could even make a living of these city contracts, with so many beautiful old cities.

Coursedesign:

Well in fact this was only a vacation video from a 3 day trip :-)
Even then, I take FX1 and tripod with me.

The high definition really added something here.

It would not have had the same feel in SD.

Good work!
