OT: How's this done

mel58i wrote on 11/15/2004, 3:03 PM
I suppose this one is for the brits.
There is an advert on the box for ING Direct involving b&w video with a red and white life belt being carried and moved around. The coloured belt is obviously part of the vid and not laid on afterwards. I don't know how the coloured belt is set within the b&w vid.
Any ideas?

I have an article in my newsletter that explains how to do a colorpass. I know Spot also has an article on the Vasst site.

You can also find it on the VASST site, but MOST of our tutorials are mirrored both places.

Spot, can this technique be used in V4 or is it more difficult?

Just tried this colour pass in V4. I can mask out a selected colour to b&w, but I can't find "invert mask" to make everything else b&w.
If this don't exist in V4 (e) how can I achieve this.

It DOES work in Vegas 4. Just read the article in my newsletter - it was written for Vegas 4.
