That was marvelous. All those years of shooting film and I never knew that Panavision had a left handed camera. I guess I should have asked.

Oh CRAP!!!!

Ya know...
some people have NO RESPECT for the craft of film direction - and it's sad - so sad.

YES - I've made a video on professional lighting.
YES - I spent months putting my best knowledge on directing into another video...
and YES - I've lectured countless times to professional audiences - men and women like yourselves - professionals who want to achieve the best footage possible for their clients, their reels and their own satisfaction.

But NO WAY would I reveal the secrets of hand gestures!
NEVER -
First off - I'd be thrown out of the DGA immediately.
And then - it would so demystify the whole process of directing... making it possible for any simple jerk to produce award winning films and videos EVERY TIME that my career would grind to a halt !

Like any top professional magician - there was simply NO WAY I could impart these top secrets to the general public at large... and now the secret is out.

So make sure that you check out this blog - and expect an onslaught of beautiful, meaningful and delightful films, in the near future.

I can't wait to see what you all produce... but then I've always had confidence in the Vegas group anyway - my very best to you all.

Look guys - you've GOT to have a sense of humor to exist in this game.

Making movies - good ones - is hard work.
And once you're done, not everyone agrees that it's good.
You've got to be able to take those kicks, and get up, and keep on shooting and cutting and writing.

The good news is that it's SO MUCH FUN!

So - yeah - laugh... because if you even have the chance to play on this field - in any position - you are among the most blessed of humans - and that's for sure!

Regarding hand gestures.....
I have used the two fingers pointing to my eyes then to the talent or crew.

I guess that is why I have never been asked to join a guild.
