OT - Huffy YUV kills windows explorer

Just curious if anyone has had issues with Huffy like this.
On the laptop it works wtithout a problem, on my old XO install it worked a treat.. i coudl even use it apps like Dynapel slowmotion...

Now though, on this new instal with SP2, it doesnt...
Vegas allows me to render to Huffy.. and allows proper iportation, and this too also works with VDub.. but no other app will recognise teh codec and Win explorer dies on me whenever i go into a folder which has video files encoded to it..

any ideas on how to flush teh system of Huffy and reinstall properly?
Ive tried reg clean ups, forced install/uninstalls etc...

I dunno why its doing it on THIS machine when the others work jsut fine...

Any ideas?

I just got done rebuilding a computer where my CPU died. I had this same problem until I redownloaded HUFFYUV and reinstalled it. That seemed to fix the problem.

Is that Huffy 2.11? I think a newer version had some problems, 211 is the one to use.
Sounds more like something else got installed that extends Windows Explorer to provide a custom folder display, and it isn't working right. I don't think Huffy should affect Explorer at all.

I would do a system restore, that should clean up explorer.

thx for the input.

I initialy installed the latest huffy, but that flaked out, so i unintsalled and instaled 211..

the codec works.. however explorer flakes whenever it tries to create thumbnails. Dynapel also dies, as does media player.

Ive just got a stock XP SP2 installation. Nothign fancy or anything like that..
Even if i change the folder options to detail instead of thumbnail it still dies.

This installaation has always had some problems, i mean i cant even install velvetmatter on this machine... and im Admin... i mean i build systems for a living when m not filmin or editing and ive never seen this.. and the sad thing is that its too late to do a full reinstall
